A Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm) is a two-year course that provides students with the knowledge and skills to work in the pharmaceutical industry:

  • Eligibility

    To be eligible, candidates must have completed higher secondary school with a science background, including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. They must also have scored a minimum percentage in their qualifying examinations.

  • Curriculum

    The course covers topics such as pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacognosy, pharmacology, and pharmaceutics. Students learn about the chemical and physical properties of pharmaceutical formulas, as well as the uses of natural medicines.

  • Career

    The D. Pharm is the minimum qualification to become a registered pharmacist in India. It also prepares students to work as pharmacy technicians or assistants, or as hospital pharmacists.

  • Colleges

    Pharmacy colleges across India offer the D. Pharm program. The curriculum and syllabi are based on the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), the statutory body that governs the pharmacy profession in India.
